August 13 – Ian Haworth Music
Growing up in Toronto Ian fell in love with the live music scene as a teenager. Originally learning piano and trumpet. He began feeling that itch to perform live for people so he grabbed a guitar and never looked back. Originally starting a band with local high school mates, the Good Rats Radio. Ian’s passion for guitar, singing and writing music began to develop and grow. After years of touring and performing, the Good Rats Radio decided to disband and move onto new individual projects. Ian’s new project became something of an internal one; dealing with his mental health that pulled him out of the music scene and performing live. His musical passion turned into his therapy for dealing with mental and physical health issues. Deciding to leave the city behind Ian found a place to call home in Collingwood, where he was welcomed into the incredible musical community.
His latest album Runaway is a passion project, and creating these songs helped him find comfort and positivity in a time when the world didn’t have much. The album has been a collaboration with great local artists in Collingwood. Featuring Kolston Gogan and Erik Vandeweerdhof as well as Craig Smith who produced and engineered the single “runaway”.
